Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026. We believe in complete transparency and keeping your route coordinates private.
TL;DR (Quick Summary)
- Your Routes are Yours: We do not track or store your location history after you close the routing engine unless you save a route to your account.
- No Data Selling: We do not sell your personal data or riding history to third-party advertisers.
- Account Optional: You can plan routes anonymously without creating an account.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide a better routing experience. The type of information depends on how you interact with Ride Somewhere:
a. Voluntary Information
If you create an account, we collect your email address and profile preferences. If you use our contact form, we collect your name and email to respond.
b. Location Data
To generate routes starting from your current position, we request access to your device's GPS location. This location data is processed locally on your device or in memory on our servers temporarily. We only store specific coordinates when you explicitly click "Save Route."
2. How We Use Information
We process your information for the following purposes:
- Route Calculations: To generate and optimize custom loop rides based on your parameters.
- Account Personalization: To remember your saved routes, preferred bike type, and filter presets.
- Improvement: To analyze user paths and aggregate anonymous metrics to optimize our routing algorithm.
4. Data Retention
We retain account credentials and saved routes for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated saved routes and credentials are permanently purged from our databases within 30 days.
5. Your Rights & Choice
You have full control over your data. At any time, you can:
- Disable location permissions in your browser or device settings.
- Request a copy of your stored account data.
- Request the complete deletion of your account and saved route histories.
To exercise these rights, please email us directly at support@ridesomewhere.com.
